Hermione Granger: An intelligent and independent young girl who ends up helping and saving her friends rather then constantly needing to be saved, gets along just fine without having boys constantly fawning over her, and spends the span of six books of character and relationship development before deciding that she's found the right guy to spend the rest of her life with based on chemistry rather than good looks.

Bella Swan: A needy, whiny, weakminded and overall stupid little girl who falls for some sparkling jerkoff who treats her like shit when she could have any other of the many boys who fawn over her but decides she wants to be in his life forever and always in the span of just two weeks.

Whether you hate Harry Potter or not, you have to admit that there is really no competition between these two. Hermione totally outshines that stupid little bitch.

I am not Hermione's biggest fan but you make a brilliant point. Bella is so pathetic, I can not even see her as a character she is a card board cut-out. No wonder Edward can not read her thoughts (you got to have them first ...)
